Angelika MöllmannRegistered Nurse, Registered Midwife, Bachelor of Arts
I was born and raised in Germany, moving to the UK in 1985 to complete my nurse training, and then my studies to become a midwife. After qualifying I worked as an autonomous practitioner in community settings.
My philosophy as a midwife is to provide individualized care, and hope to achieve the sort of birth that is right for the woman and her family. I am realistic enough to appreciate that life does not always go as planned, and I hope to support families through any situation that requires extra care and attention. I have two daughters. We moved as a family to New Zealand in 2003 to enable the girls to benefit from the glorious lifestyle that Hawke’s Bay has to offer. We live on a small lifestyle block in the Tuki Tuki valley, where we indulge our passion for horses. |

Inge MillsRegistered Midwife, Diploma of Naturopathy
Originally from Austria, I moved to the UK in 1993 to do my midwifery training. After qualifying in 1996, I worked as a hospital midwife for six years, in which time I met my husband and had my two daughters. Seeking a lifestyle change, our family moved to Hawke’s Bay in 2002.
Working within the NZ midwifery system was an important reason why we chose NZ. Its continuity of care model between midwife and mother is one of the most rewarding ways in which a midwife can work, and it has been fulfilling for me to work as a Lead Maternity Carer ever since. My aim is to make your pregnancy, labour and first few weeks after the birth as enriching and fulfilling as possible. I pride myself on providing individualised, friendly and informative care which is centred around you, your needs, and expectations. Pregnancy and birthing are normal life events and I feel particularly passionate about keeping births normal. I always try to keep interventions in labour and birth at a minimum, but I also appreciate that at times interventions are necessary and my first priority is the safety of you and your baby. |
Anete AndzaneRegistered Midwife
I have been a practicing midwife for over 14 years, working in various low and high risk settings, and looking after women from different walks of life.
I believe I offer well balanced, personalised and individual care during pregnancy, labour and the postnatal period. Most of my clientele will have their baby/ies in primary or secondary settings at the Hawke's Bay hospital, but I encourage and support women who choose to labour and birth at home with extra support from one of my practice partners. I have four children myself aged nine, seven, three and one. I think it is fair to say they have taught me a thing or two along the way! |
Kerri SmithRegistered Midwife, Lactation Consultant
Working now as a midwife all throughout Hawke's Bay, I was born in Hastings, raised in Flaxmere, and moved to Canada as a teenager with my parents and siblings. My husband and I moved back with our family to New Zealand in 2009 and re-settled in Hawke's Bay.
Before becoming a midwife I was a mother, doula, dental assistant, and breastfeeding counsellor. I did a Bachelor of Midwifery through Massey University, and was lucky to do part of my training in student placements with my lovely colleagues Inge and Angelika. Passionate about healthy pregnancy, birth, and parenting, I consider it a privilege to work with whānau and join in welcoming their babies in many different ways. I have experience in adoption and surrogacy situations, an interest in alternative and traditional healing, and use acupuncture and homeopathy as appropriate at no cost to clients. Usually I do home visits antenatally, but I use a clinic room in Waipukurau for rural and Central Hawke's Bay clients. I am comfortable with waterbirth, homebirth, and work alongside medical professionals in the hospital setting as needed. I am also a lactation consultant (IBCLC) and incorporate this knowledge and role into my midwifery practice. |

Lisa SkewsRegistered Midwife
I am a Registered Midwife providing women centred, holistic maternity care throughout the beautiful Bay.
I was born and raised in Hawke's Bay. I love living here. I am a mum to 3 awesome kids aged 18, 15 and 11. I know first hand how a positive relationship and partnership with a midwife empowers and strengthens a woman's experience. I feel privileged to work with women and their whānau throughout this exciting and special time. I previously worked in Early Childhood Education before completing my Bachelor of Midwifery at Wintec in Hamilton. I have experience in all areas of care from home birth, primary birthing units and secondary care hospitals. I am committed to improving women's health while ensuring every woman I work with is informed of her choices regarding her pregnancy, birth and postnatal care. I am passionate about supporting women and their families to trust in the normal physiological process of birth. I absolutely love my job and feel so blessed to be able to share this special time with the families I work with. |
